Statement of Intent

 Statement of intent:  

With my magazine I want to attract a female audience ranging from the ages 16-25. I want it to be focused on fashion but instead of girly and dresses I preferred it to be cooler with bold fashion like fur coats and sunglasses as they are noticeable this was important in order to get my brand identity across. It will be targeted towards an ABC1 audience as it is going to feature high end fashion like the fur coats as well as expensive products within the what's in my bag section of my website, this means the audience of my magazine would need to have a bit of money in order to want to buy these products. Across both covers and content pages I intend to make fashion the main point of it, I want to keep it minimalistic on the content pages, so the focus is on what is inside the magazine opposed to the picture that is going to feature on it. I want one of my covers to be a close up that is a fashion statement, so I am really appealing to those teenage girls, especially those who have an interest in fashion. In order to portray the media codes and conventions in my products I want to make sure in my covers I have a masthead that is accompanied by cover lines as that is what is used in a lot of magazines to capture the audience's attention to buy the magazine as cover lines act sort of like a sneak peek on what is inside the magazine.  

In my website I want to feature a paragraph on my homepage about why it is cool to be single. I feel like something like this would be very relatable for the teenage girls who are buying the magazine and looking at the website because in teenage society everyone thinks it is very important to have a boyfriend. I also want to have a link page that being a what's in my bag because in 2026 people are bringing back the 2016 trends, so I wanted to include this to engage those teenage girls especially those around the age of 18 as watching them sort of videos were apart of lots of girls childhoods. I want to include different articles within my home page to engage the audience for example I want to include a section for influencer spotlight to engage teenagers who sort of look up to these influencers and want to be like them. I want the background of my website to be white to keep it quite minimalistic, so the focus can be on the articles and the photos. I want the audience when they open the website to be greeted by a photo of 3 girls and it to be quite an iconic 2016 style photo to keep on that theme. I also want to make sure I have a bar for my social media accounts as well as a newsletter to subscribe to at the bottom of the page.
