rejected front cover idea

Image
I rejected this idea because even though I liked the minimalist vibe of it, it doesn't really look like a magazine instead it looks more like a poster. Due to with this one I wanted to go with in a minimalist direction I didn't want to add cover lines because I thought it would look cluttered, however cover lines are essential for a magazine as that is what engages the audience because usually the cover lines show what it is going to be inside of the magazine. Additionally, my masthead isn't very big therefore it isn't very eye catching for an audience which a masthead needs to be as that is what lets an audience know what the magazine is.

Magazine Front Cover Analysis

Image
Research for style magazines:   This  maga zine conforms  into  the codes and  conventions  of a fashion/style   magazine. This cover features a f emale modern who is  central  of the page, she is in a  flamboyant  outfit but due to the picture being in black and white we  cant  tell the  colours  involved.  The only  colours  we can really  see  is  through the coverlines and the masthead which adds some bright tones to the cover.  Additionally, speckles of glitter are highlighted on the cover around the feather  piece which add s a carnival feel.  By having hints of  colour  within the cover lines  it engages the audience  which makes  the audience  actually read  the  coverlines,  for example by the 10 being in  colour  makes the audience wonder what it is about therefore capturing their attention.  ...
